Key Stage 2 (Year 3-6)

Standard Attainment Tests (SAT)

At the end of Year 6 which marks the end of Key Stage 2, all children are required to take a set of National Curriculum tests known as SATs (Standard Attainment Tests).

Your child can be boisterous, enthusiastic, and energetic, finding it hard to sit still. They are very competitive and want to be the best at everything they do.

They are highly inquisitive, asking lots of questions and learning through discovery and hands-on projects. We are here to help them to prepare for the upcoming challenges.

We help them in  Science, Maths, and English.

At the end of Year 6 which marks the end of Key Stage 2, all children are required to take a set of National Curriculum tests known as SATs (Standard Attainment Tests).

The tests taken in May of Year 6 at the end of Key Stage 2 are:

  • English grammar, punctuation, and spelling

  • English reading (reading and understanding text)

  • Mathematics (arithmetic and reasoning)

  • Science (biology, chemistry, and physics)

Key stage 3 (Year 7-9) 13+

The Key Stage 3 curriculum in the schools surveyed is generally broad and balanced. Almost all schools offer the full range of Key Stage 3 national curriculum subjects.

Key stage 3 is where teachers can really instill a love for a subject and set down strong roots of understanding.

We help them in English, Maths, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.

During Year 9, students are required to choose subjects they want to study in Key Stage 4. It is important that they choose subjects they are competent in and enjoy as well as beneficial to their chosen career. In addition, the subjects they choose, which must include Maths, English, and Science, will also be part of their GCSE exams.

Although there are no national tests taken in Key Stage 3, and instead, students are assessed by their teachers through coursework or in-school tests. There are sets of examinations taken by boys and girls for entrance to senior independent schools at or 13+. Key Stage 3 students are expected to reach level 5 or 6 as compared to Government standards.
